American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat

Today, I will introduce an American artist
Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960 – 1988).
He began as a graffiti artist in New York City in the late 1970s
and evolved into a Neo-expressionist painter during the 1980s.

In 1979, Basquiat met Andy Warhol, while Basquiat was eating at a restaurant.
he presented his samples of his work to Warhol, and Warhol was stunned by his talent and uniqueness. The men later collaborated.

When Andy Warhol died on February 22, 1987, Basquiat became lonely, hence his heroin addiction and depression got worse. Basquiat died on August 12, 1988, reason of heroin overdose at his art studio in Great Jones Street in New York City's NoHo neighborhood when he was only 27 years old.
